Founder & Director of Training, Lighthouse Child and Adolescent Professional Psychology Training

Cassandra Hillman White is the Founder and Director of Training at Lighthouse Child and Adolescent Professional Psychology Training. A Registered Psychologist in Alberta with more than 30 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and professionals, Cassandra is passionate about helping clinicians develop strong, ethical, and effective assessment skills.

Since 2010, Cassandra has supervised provisional psychologists and graduate-level interns, providing mentorship in psychological assessment, case conceptualization, and clinical decision-making. Through Lighthouse, she brings this extensive supervisory experience into structured training programs designed to help psychologists, provisional psychologists, and graduate students build confidence and competence in formal assessment.

Cassandra holds a Master of Science in Applied Child and School Psychology from the University of Calgary and is the owner and Clinical Director of Rocky Mountain Psychological Services (RMPS), a multidisciplinary psychology practice serving children, adolescents, and families across Alberta. Under her leadership, RMPS has become known for its work with complex developmental, learning, mental health, and neurodevelopmental presentations, giving Cassandra extensive experience and reputation for excellence in complex formal assessments and translating assessment findings into meaningful recommendations for families, schools, and community professionals.

Throughout her career, Cassandra has pursued advanced training across a wide range of therapeutic frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Synergetic Play Therapy, Neurofeedback Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy, and the Play Therapy Dimensions Model. While her clinical training is broad, the foundation of her work has always been strong case conceptualization and evidence-informed practices.

Cassandra believes that high-quality assessment requires more than learning test administration procedures. Effective assessors need a strong foundational assessment skills including deep understanding of each of the tools they use and the psychometrics of the tools, critical thinking skills, awareness of their professional limits, and ongoing supervision to refine their judgment. These principles form the foundation of Lighthouse’s training philosophy and guide every course, workshop, and supervision experience she provides.

In addition to her training and clinical leadership roles, Cassandra currently serves as President of the Council of the College of Alberta Psychologists, bringing valuable regulatory and professional standards perspectives to the training of future assessors. Her commitment to excellence in assessment, supervision, and professional development continues to shape the next generation of psychologists across Alberta and beyond.
