Grounded in Prairie practicality, guided by research, built for clinical excellence.
At LightHouse, we are committed to advancing clinical excellence through high-quality, evidence-based training for mental health professionals. We support psychologists, therapists, and clinicians in developing the knowledge and skills needed to provide effective, compassionate care for children, adolescents, and families.
When I began my career in psychology more than 30 years ago, I quickly learned that meaningful assessment requires far more than administering tests and generating reports. High-quality assessment is built on a strong understanding of human development, thoughtful case conceptualization, critical thinking, and the ability to translate complex findings into practical recommendations that truly support children, adolescents, families, and schools.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with thousands of children, adolescents, and families while also mentoring provisional psychologists, graduate students, and early-career clinicians. Since 2010, supervision and training have become some of the most rewarding aspects of my professional journey. I have witnessed firsthand how the right guidance, structure, and support can help clinicians develop confidence in their assessment and treatment skills as well professional judgment.
I founded Lighthouse Child and Adolescent Professional Psychology Training to address a need I saw repeatedly in the field: clinicians seeking practical, evidence-informed training that bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world professional practice. The biggest gap I saw was in formal assessment training and skills development. My goal is to create a learning environment where psychologists, provisional psychologists, and graduate students can develop competence, confidence, and ethical decision-making skills while receiving the mentorship necessary to grow as professionals.
As a Registered Psychologist, Clinical Director of Rocky Mountain Psychological Services, and President of the Council of the College of Alberta Psychologists, I have spent my career committed to advancing excellence in psychological practice. Through Lighthouse, I am honored to share the knowledge, experience, and lessons I have gained with the next generation of psychologists who seek to develop competence not only in assessment but in the specialty area of working with children and adolescents.
Whether you are building foundational assessment skills, expanding your expertise, or seeking professional supervision, I look forward to supporting your growth and helping you become the thoughtful, effective clinician your clients deserve.
