Grounded in Prairie practicality, guided by research, built for clinical excellence.
This course is the first course for students who are new to formal assessment. This course sets the stage for understanding the basics of formal assessment such as how scores are generated, what standard and scaled scores as well as T-scores mean, understanding percentile ranks, and how these kinds of scores help us to make sense of standardized assessment data. This course is the bedrock for other formal assessment courses and is required for all students who have not taken a specific masters-level course on foundations of formal assessment.
This training is foundational and is intended to support — not replace — supervised practice. Participants are responsible for working within their professional role, graduate preparation, supervision requirements, test-publisher qualification levels (A/B/C), and provincial regulatory standards. Completion does not by itself establish competence or authorization to administer or interpret any test.
