Identifying Specific Learning Disorders (Virtual, Fall 2026)

Reviews DSM-5-TR SLD identification end-to-end. Learning disabilities are also discussed, including the guardrail that a school “learning disability” code is the school authority’s decision — not granted by a private assessment.

Course Description

A one-day virtual course on SLD decision-making: planning, achievement-pattern interpretation with error/base rates, multi-source integration, and school-useful wording/recommendations.

This training is foundational and is intended to support — not replace — supervised practice. Participants are responsible for working within their professional role, graduate preparation, supervision requirements, test-publisher qualification levels (A/B/C), and provincial regulatory standards. Completion does not by itself establish competence or authorization to administer or interpret any test.
